That code is (1) not Java since it cannot pass the certification tests,
and (2) is not complete since some pieces (namely graphics and font
rendering) could not be released under the GPL due to IP concerns.  When
there is a usable conglomeration of FOSS bits from GNU's gcj and the
Open JDK, then it's reasonable to revisit.
