Running DOS applications?

Hello all
   
  If MSDOS (or freeDOS) is loaded onto a machine such as the XO which is booted via LinuxBios, 
   
  -- is it then possible to load and run a 'DOS' application --- by which I mean an application written in C and machine code and which has been compiled so as to use MSDOS as its underlying OS --- on that machine?
