Zoom feature with gtk

Not a window manager's fault (matchbox is about as light weight as you
can get); we need GTK+ for I18N.  Alternative toolkits can't deal with
many complex languages we must such as Thai, Farsi, Arabic, etc. We did
find GTK+ was wasting a lot of memory in a icon cache I believe we've
turned off.  We know where (at least some of) the pigs are, and would
appreciate help fixing
