Comment:

 A patch adding support for precompiled systemtap modules (so the probes
 can be prepared on a host that has gcc and sent over to the OLPC board as
 .ko modules) was sent to the systemtap mailing list today:

 I'm happy to own bringing up systemtap with pre-compiled module support;
 reassigning this bug to myself.
