Open Firmware test image available

Is the source for the OpenFirmware interpreter itself open?  (From the
firmworks.com site it looks like it is the _principal_ IP of the
company, so it looks rather strange they would license it for free...)

If this interpreter is not open, is this not a further step back from
the "fully open system" vision?  It looks rather odd, just at the heels
of a flamewar on this specific subject...
