New description:
We've received a shipment of boards containing possible "second sourcing"
parts from Quanta, and I've been testing them. The first board I've tried
with an "SST" flash part has failed olpcwrite's verify:
{{{
Verifying flash
Sector 0x00010000
Sector 0x00020000
0x00020000: Expected 0x5d Got 0x7f
Verify FAILED
-bash-3.1#
}}}
The full serial console log is available at:
http://pullcord.laptop.org/second_sourcing/board10/olpc.html
Although the verify fails, the board appears to boot okay afterwards. The
board came shipped to us from Quanta already running LB, rather than
Insyde. The board is labelled "SST 25VF080B flash", and has PSC RAM.
