I'm aware that we can only provide 500mA in total -- that was the 'spec'
I was referring to, not the USB spec. I assume that figure isn't
intended to include the 500mA which the wireless device says it takes? 

This is what I have connected... it works fine in Linux, but not in the
BIOS.
