Oh, _that_ was the cause?  Did you ever figure out what was the cause, 
other than "having that driver cause problems?"

I think that Vesa was supposed to be on in that version of the kernel 
driver so I'm worried that's going to break us again.  We should really 
track down what interaction is causing problems.
