[olpc-help] XO problem

Hi Nina-

There are several things which could explain this behavior.

If the battery is faulty, it might be confusing the embedded controller.
A simple way to test this is to remove the battery completely, but leave the
XO plugged-in, and see if it runs any differently. The XO should run without
the battery without any problem.

Another possibility; if the battery is okay but the embedded controller is
itself confused, you can reset the power management system by unplugging the
XO, removing the battery, and letting it sit without power and without a
battery for a minute or so. That should reset the power management system.
Hopefully that will fix the problem.

More information on this procedure is on the wiki:

Another possibility is simply a bug in the software and upgrading to a newer
release could fix the problem. Do you know what release of the software
you're running?
