[olpc-help] disable built-in keyboard?

this has come up a couple of times on the G1G1 user forums, and
it feels like there should be a simple solution, and i'm hoping
someone here will have an idea.

when laptops suffer the stuck-key keyboard problem, it not only
renders the builtin keyboard useless, but also an external
keyboard, due to the stuck control or alt key.

might it be possible to disable the builtin keyboard either by
manipulating a node under /sys/class/input/input3/..., or by editing
xorg.conf?  there's clearly a chicken/egg problem here, since the
user might not even be able to type enough to fix the problem. 
but it might be worth a try.
