This sounds very familiar.

There are 2 files required for re-imaging, not one. The USB key must
have only those files on it.

Try this link, and do _exactly_ as instructed:

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Stable_Upgrade

You'll want build 650.

It is actually easy to do.
