it will help to have more information:
* what is the model of your netgear wireless router?
* what kind of security does your netgear wireless
router support: WEP? WPA? be as specific as you can.
* do you have password access enabled on your netgear
wireless router?
* can you tolerate disabling the security features
to permit any host to use the access point?
* do you have a computer other than an XO box that
works with the netgear wireless router?
* have you managed to connect any of your XO boxes
to the internet (e.g. at a wi-fi cafe or some other
place)?
* when you use the XO box to try to access the
netgear wireless router, what exactly do you see
and do?
* can you afford to try a wired rather than a
wireless router? this will require not only a
"regular" router (with several separate connection
ports, aka with a built-in four-port or eight-port
switch), but cables for each computer as well as
a USB-to-ethernet adapter for each computer.
