1. Everything is on track for Barry Vercoe's keynote at WorldComp'06, Las
Vegas Monday. There will be five laptops distributed aesthetically on the
very large stage of Lance Burton Theater, and a sixth laptop behind the
audience, all playing music collaboratively. There'll be ethnic
variety—Brazilian music, Chinese music, Indian music—even a simulated
call-and-response duet between two villages. Visualize a bare stage, each
laptop sitting alone on a card table, with a large EV1 loudspeaker behind
it. This first public rollout of the laptop promises to be a blast. Jim
Gettys and Michail Bletsas will form a panel following.

2. WiFi became operational on the developer boards being used for Barry's
demo in Las Vegas next week. With the help of Marcelo Tosatti and Dan
Williams, Michail tested both Infrastructure and Ad-Hoc modes on the Alpha
boards and confirmed WiFi operation. Marcelo's version of the Marvell
driver was used, since it is more up to speed with the current Fedora
version used internally at OLPC.
