#12763: XO-4 hang after a few minutes of idle using ad-hoc network in a specific
environment

               Type:  defect  |      Status:  new
           Priority: normal | Milestone: Future Release
          Component: kernel | Version: Development build as of this date
         Resolution:          |    Keywords:

Changes (by Quozl):

  * next_action:  diagnose => design

Comment:

 Further data:
  * the problem is not isolated to specific laptops,
  * the problem easily reproduces on between four and five laptops in a
 cohort of 22,
  * the last command response from the wireless firmware is for joining the
 ad-hoc network,
  * 10.23 milliseconds elapses,
  * a storm of 13 bogus receive event interrupts happens at 1.7ms
 intervals,
  * the CMD_MAC_MULTICAST_ADR command is uploaded, but not responded to,
  * a timeout is declared by the driver, but it does not reset the card.

 Analysis:
  * the wireless firmware has probably crashed 10.23 milliseconds after
 reporting successful join to the ad-hoc network.

 See [http://dev.laptop.org/~quozl/z/1WOMyI.txt driver debugging log with
 annotations].
