Comment:

 While the ''invalid IE fmt'' does occur on the XO-1.5, it is not doing so
 as a result of mesh probe responses being returned in scan results.   The
 LBS_DEB_HEX output does not contain these mesh probe responses, though a
 monitor mode packet trace does see the device sending ACKs in response to
 them.  So it looks like the 8686 firmware is filtering these probe
 responses rather than returning them to the host.  This means the XO-1
 laptops are not causing the problem on XO-1.5, XO-1.75 or XO-4.
