 * after hanging, the wireless card continues to emit beacons and respond
 to probe requests, which shows the MAC and BBU are alive,
  * the registers for the SD device controller on the card show an
 interrupt has been raised for the card but has not been cleared (0x38 bit
 0 is 1), which shows the SDU is alive.
