Comment:

 The mwifiex change to make it stop ignoring interrupts didn't quite work.
 I found a case where mwifiex processing an interrupt while simultaneously
 shuts down results in an infinite loop, causing the hang mentioned at the
 end of my final comment.

 So now lets try an approach where mwifiex acks interrupts while shutting
 down, but does not act on them. Pushed 36da52ff3a, seems stable.
