 OK, I cleaned that up, and Manuel tested again. It does look like that yum
 always fails in the wifi case, and always succeeds over USB-ethernet.

 This doesn't immediately implicate that wifi is at fault though, because
 we know that this is a problem sensitive to its surroundings in
 meaningless ways (e.g. just adding a print statement to yum makes it work
 on wireless).

 Tomorrow we will look closer at what is happening from the local network
 point of view.
