Comment:

 Thanks for the test with USB ethernet.  I add Tim to cc, since you have
 identified wireless as a potential cause.  I don't think the switching
 back test with yum is useful, because now yum has a cache and arp has a
 cache.  A repeat of the test with URLGrabber may be useful; several times.
