 I have acquired a USB 2.0 ethernet mini-adapter, plugged it to the C1 in
 question and to the same router that provides the wifi AP.  I have
 disconnected the AP and left only the wired one connected.  And now, 'yum
 install git' succeed.  So as Daniel was arguing, looks like an issue in
 the wireless card of this specific unit, as my other units can connect to
 the same AP and yum without a problem.
