Comment(by dsd):

 The crash is because ORC fails to compile the programs used in the
 gstreamer videoconvert plugin, and there is no fallback in the generated
 code.

 It is selecting the arm backend which is apparently useless:

 Need to see if the neon backend should be enabled in our case, otherwise
 we could look into what happens when the arm backend is disabled (does it
 fall back on non-optimized code?).
