breaks boot on XO-1.5, and probably on XO-1 too.
Mitch suspects that the cr4 value-slamming breaks OFW's use of paging,
thus breaking the ability to read the device tree using OFW client calls.
If this is the case, it is likely a consequence of a philosophical
conflict between OFW and linux x86 developers over the question: should
the firmware be allowed to live after the OS is up?
