 Thanks. Still incomplete, but this one has the important info.
 NetworkManager is hung waiting on a mwifiex command response (to get the
 active station address). This is running under the rtnl so other network-
 related processes are blocked (ethtool and ifconfig in this case).
 For debugging this, my next step would be to investigate why the mwifiex
 command has hung. Based on libertas experience I'd first hazard a guess
 that mwifiex does not have good enough handling of pending commands when
 going into suspend, allowing us to easily enter a situation where a
 process is left hanging on for a command result that it will never
 receive. That could be identified by logging the moment when
 mwifiex_cfg80211_get_station() is called and seeing when that happens in
 relation the suspend/resume sequence.
