Indeed, and it would be especially useful if we could manage to keep track
of which one is which :-)
I think I have managed to stabilize the channel assignment in OFW, but I
am not at all confident that it won't break later because of some
seemingly-innocuous change. Linux is harder still, given the added
complexity of the multi-layer driver and the difficult-to-enumerate
userland interactions.
The other factor that makes this challenging is the fact that the Linux
sound driver engineer and the OFW sound driver engineer are both nearing
the ends of their stints at OLPC. Does OLPC have the resources to get
stereo working reliably, and keep it that way?
