On XO-4, the Left/Right volume controls are tied together and cannot be
 panned.

 Reproduction:

  1. Run "amixer set Master 20" as root. The volume will be set to 20 on
both the Left & Right audio channels.
  2. Run "amixer set Master 20,0" as root. The volume will be set to 0 on
both audio channels instead of 20 on the Left channel and 0 on the Right.
  3. Run "amixer set Master 0,20" as root. The volume will be set to 20 on
both audio channels instead of 0 on the Left channel and 20 on the Right.

Earlier XO models with similar commands (but different tolerable audio
levels) will configure the audio mixer as described above, and only output
 audio in one channel.
