 I agree.  The frame buffer "corruption" stops in the middle of a
 character; an imaginary horizontal line separates background colour from
 the character foreground.

 There are calls to ''wait-done'' in ''gp-move'' and ''gp-fill'', so I
 wonder if this is cache related.
