 I reproduced this in 13.1.0 build 29, so the above kernel fix has not
 solved the problem.

 With logging, I have more info on what is happening, logs attached. During
 the normal bootup conversation, a 0xf4 command is sent to the mouse, and
 no response is received, causing the message:

 [    3.248793] psmouse serio1: Failed to enable mouse on
 olpc_touchpad/serio0
 }}}

 At this point the FIFO is empty, suggesting that the command was actually
 sent and flushed. But from this point we stop receiving any data from the
 device, and any commands we send do not get flushed (we queue 4 in the
 FIFO, then the rest just timeout as the FIFO is full).
