 I agree that this appears to be a power-up issue, not a suspend/resume
 issue as originally implied.

 I would run with a higher logging level and try to narrow down what is
 hanging.
 Keeping CForth running might also be productive.

 One question is whether the camera is powered up when this happens.  Jon
 mentioned on IRC that he didn't think it was powered when he saw this.  I
 didn't notice if the camera light was on or off.
