 i see what you're referring to (using "evtest", and selecting "virtual
 touchscreen").  i just tried this with the 1.75 raydium touchscreen, and
 there are far, far, more events if you hold your finger down.  but i see
 that on 1.75 they mostly vary by pressure, instead of by position.  the
 events reported by the zforce device on XO-4 vary by both, but perhaps not
 as excessively.

 so:
   - do you not see the problem in activities using the 1.75 touchscreen?
 (it's possible that some other layer is preventing the application from
 seeing the events that vary only in pressure.)
   - are we certain that filtering touchscreen events should be done in the
 driver?  i'm happy to do so, but i want to be sure it's the correct thing
 to do.
