 The olpc-connections, olpc-log, and olpc-netstatus scripts use ifconfig,
 which supposedly is depreciated in favor of the "ip" command in Linux.

 I do not know if/when the ifconfig command may disappear (various BSD's
 still maintain it and do not include ip/iw) but we should move to a
 currently supported approach (iw in particular warns against
 screenscraping it due to an unstable interface).
