 I'd like to make those rules a bit more specific first; and it would be
 good to archive the device identification information anyway.

 When you plug the device in, it will create a node in /dev/bus/usb, e.g.
 /dev/bus/usb/001/001

 Please run: udevinfo -a -n /path/to/node
 e.g.
 {{{
 #  udevadm info -a -n /dev/bus/usb/001/001
 }}

 and post the output here.
