 Bert, if you could spare 15 minutes to do some diagnosis here it would be
 greatly appreciated.

 I haven't managed to reproduce the sound error outside of Sugar, but there
 seems to be a more fundamental problem:

 squeak -vm-display-X11 ScratchXO.image
 }}}

 Works on the old squeak, fails on the new one. The window comes up but it
 is completely grey.
