 #12150 has not been known to break boot.

 Was the serial port alive despite this message, giving a bash prompt?

 If so, this is probably the issue that has been fixed this morning where
 OFW was doing a bad coprocessor write  (r3429). Would be good to have more
 details if that doesn't fix it.
