 Actually, things are not quite right: (testing XO-1.75 running 12.1.0
 build 12)

 Hold Alt and drag the top panel from the top to the side of the screen.
 Then move it back. The networkmanager icon disappears, the battery icon
 gets displayed wrongly, and sometimes the date/time button gets chopped
 too.

 This can be reproduced on XO-1.5 too. So we have breakage here on all 3
 laptop models.

 Also, when plugging/unplugging power, the icon does not change. I have
 checked in the code and it appears to have executed the right code to
 change the display of the icon, but the on-screen icon does not update.
