activity once inside Sugar, the icon in the favorite view is all gray)
Yes, apologies, I'm slow getting to this!

think it would be clearer to put them at the same place as in the welcome
screen
Personally I'm quite happy as they are, the Activity is a standard
Activity, the first boot is something different, no need to make the two
identical so I favour the standard use of the Activity and toolbar over
some custom widgets on the canvas.

the get-books activity? I mean the only thing I see that could be of
interest is gathering metadata like 'how often a learner did bring up the
welcome activity' (that said, I am actually not a big fan of stateless
activities because there should be always some information/metadata to be
stored)
Yes, please save state always, get-books is broken in my opinion and need
fixing! It should at least be saving state for your last search and the
books you downloaded. Remember also that the home favorites view resumes
the last Journal entry, get-books looks like it has never been used and
will start multiple instances if clicked on more than once.
