 I will look into this new bug.

 The ugly hardcoded timeout was intended as a temporary workaround. Without
 it, recording is wholly unreliable. With it, recording is reasonably
 stable, I could not find a reliable way to determine if the conversion to
 ogg was complete. If someone has some better insights into how to probe
 the status of a pipeline, I am all ears.
