 in the time since the current "xset m" parameters were chosen in the 8.2.1
 timeframe, we've introduced at least 2, possibly 3 new touchpad devices,
 introduced two more laptop models, and replaced an early X server which
 didn't cleanly implement the "0 threshold" motion algorithm.

 as described here:

 values aren't optimal on the XO-1 at least.
