 Using this test

 }}}

 on XO-1.75 C2 SKU204 with 12.1.0 os9,
 and using the F11 and F12 keys to set the master volume control three
 steps from the maximum, and setting the Speaker volume control using
 alsamixer to 59, results in the test tone varying in volume over a period
 of a few seconds.
