 Powerd getting stuck waiting for ethtool to return would not be a new;
 this has happened with other libertas issues.

 Powerd would have to do something like be multi-threaded, fork ethtool as
 a child, or have an alarm handler to work around this if ethtool cannot
 timeout in a reasonable timeframe.
