 Ok, to the above I want to add for clarification that my AP is announcing
 in bad utf-8. Martin can use the same ssid from above with his AP and he
 announces it in correct utf-8, Sugar can display the string correctly in
 the Palette and is able to connect to that AP. Both are great APs to test
 the patch against.
