Comment:

 This is a transient error, as the eMMC devices (and the filesystems
 therein) work fine after a power cycle.

 One suggestion is that we have the ability to hard reset the eMMC under
 software control.  Adding this to the error handling path for this ticket
 should be considered.

 I would note that the ability to power cycle managed storage devices (SD,
 eMMC, SSD) is required by Microsoft for Windows certification --- perhaps
 this was learned the hard way.
