 I think I found it. Procedure

  * On XO-1/1.5/1.75 with a 11.3.x build, open the Paint activity
  * Choose the bucket tool
  * From the Brush properties dialog, pick the lime green color swatch, 2nd
 counting from top-left
  * Hide the dialog
  * Click on the canvas for a nice lime green screen

 The effect should now be visible -- some lighting angles and viewing
 angles make it more evident. Fluorescent tube lighting makes it more
 evident, but it's also visible in natural light.

 It goes away when you dial down the backlight all the way to greyscale
 mode.

 This is an artifact of screen refresh. All LCDs have this, with the
 exception of e-ink screens (which operate similar to our greyscale mode).

 Tony - can you try the steps I outline, and confirm this is the issue
 you've seen?
