Comment:

 Saadia, have you made any progress on narrowing down the differences
 between when audio files play OK, and when they sound bad? I tried a
 handful of wave files with different parameters (all playing with aplay)
 and couldn't find any bad cases.

 However, this bug can be reproduced with totem and
 http://www.vorbis.com/music/Hydrate-Kenny_Beltrey.ogg (13.1.0 build 21)
 and also

 {{{
 gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///home/olpc/Desktop/Hydrate-
 Kenny_Beltrey.ogg
 }}}

 but it works with:

 {{{
 ogg123 Hydrate-Kenny_Beltrey.ogg
 }}}

 and also with:

 {{{
 oggdec Hydrate-Kenny_Beltrey.ogg
 gst-launch playbin2 uri=file:///home/olpc/Desktop/Hydrate-
 Kenny_Beltrey.wav
 }}}

 Investigating the difference between gst-launch and ogg123 (on the same
 .ogg file in question) is probably a good angle of attack here, if we
 don't already have further diagnosis.
