Comment:

 This is nothing new - its been like this for the last few releases.

 The magic permissions don't make it all the way from Fedora to JFFS2, and
 I don't see a quick solution.

 It may have worked before (years ago), when the ping executable was setuid
 root, which could even be regarded as worse than the current situation.
