Comment:

 I have just pushed 3 upstream commits to arm-3.5:

 {{{
     mmc: sdhci-pxav3: Use sdhci_get_of_property for parsing DT quirks
     mmc: dt: add no-1-8-v device tree flag
     mmc: sdhci: add quirk for lack of 1.8v support
 }}}

 Now we need the corresponding DT modification for the external SD slot. I
 have been testing on XO-4 with:
 {{{
 dev /sd/sdhci at d4280000
 0 " no-1-8-v" integer-property
 device-end
 }}}
 but maybe there is a better way of creating an "empty" property? The value
 is not read, so it doesn't have to be an integer as I have done above. The
 property just has to exist.

 Then we'll need an XO-4 firmware release (on your schedule - not urgent).

 The same change should be made to the XO-1.75 external SD slot DT node. I
 don't have one to hand to confirm the address. For XO-1.75 there's no
 pressure for a new OFW release, since we don't use DT there yet (this same
 bug has been worked around at the kernel level for XO-1.75) - this is just
 forward-thinking.
