 To add some info here:

  * cheese is like Record, for GNOME
  * We shipped cheese in some earlier releases (right?)
  * cheese now uses clutter so we can't use it until we have 3D support.

 So finding an alternative would be nice.

 However, as discussed at the triage meeting we're don't currently have
 resources to devote here (hard to prioritise this in the face of other
 work). Not sure who to assign this to, or if to push out to future release
 and document in release notes.
