 the best way to tell whether wakeup events are detected properly is to
 turn on tracing:

 powerd-config =trace-on
 }}}
 and see whether the events seen by powerd match what you think they should
 be.  many will be "unknown", but power button, rtc, and lid should be
 recognized.

 and yes, i will do some testing myself.
