12.1.0 os5 did not have the problem that there was NO DEVICE (major 179 or
something, minor 0 or something) defined for the SD card in the external
 slot of the XO-1.

In my setup, I use a "permanent" SD card. But with os6 (and now with os7)
I __CANNOT__ mount that card since the systen does not define any device
for it. [By the way, since my SD card is "permanent", it would not matter
to me if that card (oresent at boot-up) were treated as non-removable.
What does matter to me is that the XO-1 12.1.0 system forgets about that

I have no desire to switch to using a "permanent" USB stick instead.
Since the XO-1 *has* a slot for an external SD card - please let me use
