 I agree with that part - but let's separate the two things

  * Sugar and activities are not usable in ebook mode. We need to fix this
 with UI work.
  * Not-quite-closing the XO in ebook mode and smuggling a finger to the TP
 is not a workaround, and trying to support this mode of use is a bad idea.
