Comment:

 I can't reproduce this, and Paul couldn't either. xorg-x11-drv-synaptics
 only supports absolute input devices, but we don't enable any mouse
 options that provide absolute input.

 Based on the snippets pasted on IRC I think this may have just been a
 mixup with kernels or kernel configs. We are currently not enabling the
 in-kernel synaptics driver which would affect this, that's being tracked
 in #10417. Please reopen with logs if this is still an issue.
